This story is for my dad, who I miss very much!
Did you ever see a man who could do anything in the world? That man would
be my dad. He would always know just what to say when I needed him. He
would always know what to do when I didn't.
My dad worked 18 hour days just to make sure that his family of 6 kids and
his wife had everything they needed. When he didn't have a vehicle to get
home from work, I would be there for him waiting outside the prison gates
where he worked for 20 some years. I often felt sorry for my father because
he never really wanted anything and when he did, he didn't have the money
to get it because we had such a large family. Money was always a problem.
It has been almost 9 years since my father passed away. I've only gone to
the cemetary. Maybe 3 times since his funeral. I'm not really sure why, but
something inside me just can't go.
I think of him everyday and still after 9 years the tears come just as
easily as they did back then. My father was the world to me just as I know
we were to him. If I could turn back the clock -- if only for a second I
would tell him that I love him. I just need one more time!
If this story sounds familiar to you, then maybe you should call your
parents or stop by just to tell them that you love them!
From a loving daughter.
